Birmingham City sign highly-rated Swedish youth international midfielder Leidhammar | OneFootball

Birmingham City have completed the signing of highly-rated Swedish youth international midfielder Wilma Leidhammar.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from Blues this morning.

The 22-year-old joins Birmingham City from Swedish OBOS Damallsvenskan club IFK Norrköping for a club-record fee.

Leidhammar signed for IFK Norrköping back in 2022 and she has built a strong reputation in the Swedish top flight. She netted nine goals in the 2025 Damallsvenskan and provided seven assists. She has captained IFK Norrköping on several occasions during her time at the club.

On the international stage, Leidhammar has represented Sweden at various youth levels. The next step will be to push for senior honours.

After joining Birmingham City, Leidhammar said “I’m really excited. First to meet them, then to train, play games, hopefully win and get promoted in the end. That is, of course, the dream.

“From my first conversations with Amy [Merricks] and Hope [Powell], I could feel the ambition of the club straight away, and it felt like the right place for me.

“I play with a lot of passion, play with my heart out, and it’s really important for me to enjoy every moment.”

Leidhammar will be available for selection for Birmingham City once the necessary international clearance has been received.
