Birmingham City host Leicester City in the Championship at St Andrew's on Saturday, 7 February, with the hosts riding momentum and the visitors looking to halt a slide in the lower reaches of the table.
Leicester City have won the past five meetings between the sides, but Birmingham City arrive unbeaten in five across league and cup with three wins and two draws. Leicester's recent league run reads one win, one draw and three defeats.
Birmingham City are without Jack Robinson, Demarai Gray, Tomoki Iwata, Ethan Laird, Lee Buchanan and Alexander William Cochrane. Leicester lose Caleb Okoli to suspension, with Jannik Vestergaard, Hamza Choudhury, Aaron Ramsey and Jordan James sidelined. Those absences could shape defensive selections on both sides.
Birmingham average 54% possession and have scored 10 headed goals with 18.09% cross accuracy, so deliveries into the box could be a route to goal. The Foxes keep 53% of the ball with 82.59% pass completion, but just three clean sheets and 45 conceded suggest their defence may be tested. Jay Stansfield's eight league goals and five assists and Marvin Ducksch's seven strikes lead the hosts' threat, while Abdul Fatawu has seven assists for the visitors.
A home win would move Birmingham to 45 points and strengthen their mid-table position. Victory for the Foxes would take them to 35 points and may ease pressure near the bottom, with their recent head to head record offering encouragement despite current form.
