Arsenal and Blackburn Rovers have confirmed the permanent transfer of Osman Kamara between the two clubs, with Rovers reporting that Kamara has signed a two-and-a-half-year deal to June 2028, with an option for a further year.
The timing of the announcement was somewhat unfortunate, coming just one minute after Rovers’ confirmation that they’d parted ways with their manager by mutual consent.
The two updates are entirely unrelated, and Kamara is effectively an u21 signing for Rovers anyway. But he’ll have to wait and see to find out which new first-team manager he needs to impress to get future call-ups.

Writing on Instagram over the weekend, Kamara confirmed that he was set to leave the club following a decade in north London.
“After 10 years at Arsenal, it’s time to take the next step in my career,” Kamara said. “I am grateful towards every staff member, coach, and the club that nurtured me. Excited for what’s to come!”
After playing his final game for the Arsenal u21s on January 17th, news broke that Kamara was set to be released when he reached the end of his first professional contract this summer.
The teenager then held a trial with Blackburn Rovers, coming on at half-time of their match against the Birmingham City u21s and scoring just four minutes later with a flicked finish at the far post.

Kamara racked up 20 goals and assists in 39 games for the Arsenal u18s, but he didn’t quite carry that through to the u21s, where he managed five in 28 matches. Rovers will now hope to help him return to his best in u21 football before pushing on into the senior game.
