The Potters announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this evening.
Smith has made nine appearances for Blackburn Rovers in all competitions this season, however, just three of those outings have come as starts. The 21-year-old needs more game time to enable her to grow and she has therefore gone out on loan.
The defender has joined a Stoke City side that have had a solid season in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division so far. The Potters are occupying eighth position after 10 matches. The club have games-in-hand on some of the sides above them.
After adding Smith to her squad, Stoke City head coach Marie Hourihan said “We are really excited to have Evie come on board with us.
“She is versatile and possesses great technical ability which combined with her experience of playing in the Championship at Blackburn Rovers and Liverpool, can only be beneficial to our group for the remainder of the campaign.”
Smith could make her Stoke City debut in the derby against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday afternoon.
