FLW's Blackburn fan pundit shares their thoughts on Blackburn's links with Tony Mowbray
Blackburn Rovers are on the hunt for a new permanent manager after Michael O'Neill decided to stick with his role with the Northern Ireland men's national football team, and have outlined a familiar face as a potential candidate.
As teams across the EFL head into the summer, a large portion will be focusing on the transfer window ahead.
As for Blackburn, they are still in the process of hiring a new permanent boss for next season after Northern Irish boss Michael O'Neill decided to turn down the permanent position at Ewood Park in favour of his country.
The Lancashire-based outfit had likely prepared for O'Neill to accept the offer, so his rejection has set them back a bit on their summer plans.
Their search for a new permanent boss continues, as former manager Tony Mowbray has seen his odds slashed in the race for the vacant role in the Ewood Park dugout.

Mowbray, 62, spent over five years as manager of Blackburn between 2017 and 2022, taking charge of the club just before their relegation to League One, and guiding them back to the Championship at the first time of asking.
The Englishman has spent more games in charge of Blackburn than any other side across his career, with 267 games managed for the Lancashire-based outfit, and it's little surprise to see him touted for a return, with bookmakers slashing his odds.
Football League World's Blackburn fan pundit, Simon, has shared their thoughts on a potential return of Mowbray and whether he would be the right fit for the club moving forward.
Simon said: "Yeah, I mean, Tony Mowbray did really well with Blackburn when he came in. He steadied the ship, you know, got us back out of League One on the first attempt and made us competitive in the Championship.
"I don't think we had any relegation battles when he was in charge; he was consistent with what he did. Saying that, though, I think a lot of Blackburn fans would probably maybe expect the same the second time, and I don't think that would be the case.
"I think, with Blackburn at the minute, we need to be looking forward and not looking backwards, not looking in the past so much. We are quite bad for doing that. I don't think the second stint would be as successful as the first stint.
"So, you know, as much as he has got the experience, I think we do need to be looking forward more than backwards and looking for someone new to come in."

With Blackburn sounding out targets for their vacant managerial position, FLW's fan pundit has urged the club to look to the future and avoid appointing Mowbray for a second time.
The veteran boss is an expert when it comes to the EFL, having managed each of West Bromwich Albion, Middlesbrough, Coventry City, Sunderland, Birmingham City, and Blackburn.
However, whilst his experience certainly counts for something, whether it is something they should rely upon remains to be seen.
What route the Lancashire outfit will go down, at this point, is unknown, though if they are to go down the experienced route and appoint someone like Mowbray, they must be sure it is the correct move and has fans on board; otherwise, they could be in for another difficult year.
