According to Alan Nixon, the case will be taken to an independent panel to determine the next step in the youngster’s future.

Tyjon is not currently training or playing with the Championship side as the uncertainty mounts on his future at Ewood Park.

The 18-year-old has impressed at underage level for the Lancashire outfit, but has found first team opportunities limited due to the speculation on his position at the club.

It was previously hoped that Blackburn could convince the forward to remain with the team long-term by tying him down to a new deal earlier this summer.

But that optimism has now faded significantly, and we could now just be a few weeks away from a resolution on the entire situation.

It’s believed that Tyjon has requested that he be de-registered by Blackburn amid Arsenal’s attempts to sign him from the Championship club.

The teenager’s last appearance for Rovers came on 21 April 2025, with the uncertainty over his future leading to him receiving limited first team chances.

The Gunners are keen to bolster their underage sides, and are seeking a deal for the striker on the cheapest possible terms.

It’s understood that the case involving Tyjon’s future will now be taken to an independent panel, where both clubs will state their case.

Blackburn and Arsenal have been unable to agree on a fee for the player, with the Premier League champions reportedly offering way below the current asking price.

The Lancashire outfit are believed to be fuming at the derisory offers that have been made for Tyjon, which has led to them refusing a sale.

A timeframe of a few weeks has been given for when this case may be resolved, but it remains to be seen which club will be favoured in this dispute.

Blackburn Rovers’ transfer business

Blackburn have not been particularly active in the transfer market so far this summer, completing a permanent move for Moussa Baradji after his prior loan spell.

Jayden Fevrier has also signed on a permanent basis from Stockport County, while Sam Morsy completed a switch to Ewood Park as a free agent after his exit from Bristol City.

Tony Mowbray’s side drew 2-2 with Wolves in their opening league game of the new campaign, and they now have until 1 September to complete any remaining transfer business.

Igor Tyjon situation is quite frustrating for Blackburn

Blackburn have set a valuation for Tyjon, and Arsenal have been unwilling to meet that figure so far.

Given the resources available to the Gunners, they most definitely have the cash to be able to strike an agreement for the forward, but have instead forced this unruly situation.

Rovers have been known for their academy system, and their ability to produce young talent, and the 18-year-old was tipped to be the next big thing.

But there is no doubt that this entire situation has stalled his career at a crucial stage, as he could be a part of Mowbray’s plans at Ewood Park, instead of being left out due to an uncertainty over his future.
