One of the players who has taken Mexican women’s soccer to the highest level is Blanca María Félix Castro. Tonight, at Estadio Jalisco, as part of the Clásico Tapatío, the Chivas Femenil captain made history once again in the women’s league, reaching 100 clean sheets in the Rojiblanca goal.
The Sinaloan’s career is flawless: a founder of the Liga Femenil, a two-time champion of the women’s league, as well as Campeón de Campeones, a Mexico international and a player who continues to evolve in pursuit of getting better match after match. The passing of the tournaments has further cemented her as an essential figure whenever we talk about the division, with 263 matches played and more than 23,000 minutes on the field.
Blanca is an example for all those girls and young women who aspire to achieve their dreams, all through saves that have been immortalized in the memory of those of us who have watched her establish herself as the owner of the Rojiblanca goal. On top of all this, we must add her leadership and closeness with the fans, something she demonstrates to Chivahermanos at all times.
Talking about Blanca Félix is talking about history, and tonight, at Guadalajara’s second home, the Rebaño goalkeeper once again etched her name in golden letters into the records of the Liga Femenil.
