Last night, Club Brugge were involved in one of the craziest and most chaotic games in Belgian Pro League history. The side shared 10 goals with Westerlo in a 5-5 draw that went down to the wire. What may be forgotten about in all the mayhem was that their Nigerian star Raphael Onyedika had to be taken off during the first half. As reported by HLN, the midfielder has sustained a hamstring injury and will mess the sides upcoming games against Standard Liege and Atalanta.
Onyedika will be a big miss for Club Brugge, especially in the Champions League. The 24-year-old defensive midfielder has been a fantastic signing for the Belgian side since joining from Danish side FC Midtjylland in 2022. He has played 155 games for Club Brugge, scoring seven goals. He was fantastic in their opening game of the Champions league against Monaco and his physicality in central areas makes him the best defensive midfielder in the Pro League. Is it any coincidence that once Onyedika went off, Club Brugge conceded another four goals against Westerlo?
