According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Boca have paused and reshaped their move for Edwuin Cetré, with what looked like a US$ 4,500,000 purchase now in doubt after private medical checks requested by the club lit alarms in Ezeiza.
Tests flagged an old knee injury from his Santos Laguna spell that has not fully healed. Although he is playing and contributing for Estudiantes, directors consider a full purchase too risky right now.
A four-year contract had been prepared, with US$ 2,250,000 earmarked for Estudiantes and US$ 1,250,000 for Independiente Medellín based on their respective percentages. After the medical report, Boca switched to a loan with an option or obligation to buy.
For that plan to proceed, Estudiantes must renew Cetré's deal, which runs out at the end of the year. Without that signature in La Plata, there will be no move to La Boca.
While talks race the clock, the winger has resumed training under Eduardo Domínguez after missing Riestra, with his focus now on the La Plata clásico. Even so, he remains keen to take his game to La Boca.
The call now sits with Estudiantes. Boca want the player under new physical and financial safeguards, and the next hours will decide if he wears blue and gold or the move collapses over lingering knee doubts.
