Boca Juniors have put Zeballos on the market after talks over a new contract collapsed and are listening to offers, aiming to avoid losing him for nothing.

According to SuperDepor.com, the club’s Football Council, headed by Juan Román Riquelme, will seek a sale before June. FIFA regulations allow the 24-year-old, whose deal runs to December 2026, to begin talks then for a free move once it expires.

Zeballos emerged as one of the academy’s brightest prospects, but repeated injuries, including fractures and ligament ruptures, curtailed his momentum and limited his minutes despite his individual spark.

Offers are expected in the coming weeks, possibly from abroad, with Brazil, Mexico and MLS among likely destinations where his age and potential keep him in demand.

He made his senior debut on 29 November 2020 in a 2-0 win over Newell’s Old Boys at La Bombonera under Miguel Ángel Russo. Aged 18, he came on for the closing minutes and showed pace and directness on the flanks.

His exit would close a chapter for the reserve graduates who excited supporters, and it would compel Boca to source attacking alternatives for the second half of the year.
