Boca beat Olimpia of Paraguay 2-1 in San Nicolás, with Alan Velasco and Tomás Belmonte on target. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Claudio Úbeda’s team continue to tune up while awaiting reinforcements.
Agustín Marchesin 7 was important, blameless for the concession and made big stops. Juan Barinaga 4 and Malcom Braida 4 struggled at full-back, while Nicolás Figal 7 and Ayrton Costa 6 were secure.
Ander Herrera 8 produced an outstanding first half and will be very important this year if he can stay fit. Tomás Belmonte 8 settled into midfield and headed the winner from an excellent Exequiel Zeballos 8 cross. Leandro Paredes 7 showed flashes and has completed his first pre-season with the group.
Alan Velasco 6 scored via a deflection and needs minutes to build sharpness. Miguel Merentiel was withdrawn early after a knock, the coach chose not to risk him with the league ahead. Lucas Janson 6 came on and had two dangerous efforts.
Zeballos 8 was Boca’s most threatening outlet, a surge down the left created Belmonte’s goal. Late changes Lucas Blondel, Williams Alarcón, Milton Delgado, Lautaro Di Lollo and Brian Aguirre arrived when the intensity had dipped and made little impact.
Claudio Úbeda 6 kept the Millonarios blueprint, introducing players who needed minutes. The Xeneize built rhythm and look ready for the start of the Argentine season.
