With the new coaching staff due to arrive, Boca are weighing returning loanees as well as reinforcements. Marcelo Saracchi and Mauricio Benítez finish their loans on 30 June and are expected to report at Ezeiza to settle their next steps.

According to LaNumer12.com.ar, Saracchi is on loan at Celtic, who for much of the season looked likely to trigger a purchase option, but the latest indications are that they will not.

In the 25/26 campaign he featured as a rotation option, playing 27 games across the Premiership, the league’s Final Phase, Europa League, SFA Cup and League Cup, totalling 967 minutes. He registered one goal, two assists, and three bookings.

If Celtic decline, newly promoted Çorum FK have emerged as suitors and could table a formal offer as they move into the top flight in Türkiye. A sale would benefit Boca more than another loan, freeing a foreign-player slot and widening their options in the market.

Benítez, a Boca academy midfielder, returns after a year and a half on loan at Royal Antwerp. His best spell came late last year, when he cemented a starting berth in a double pivot and produced three goals and one assist in a run of 10 matches.

His loan ends in June and Antwerp hold a US$ 5,000,000 option to buy 100% of his rights, though there has been no update yet on executing it.

Rodolfo Arruabarrena’s appointment marks a structural shift for Boca’s window. Unlike before, the head coach will take a direct, decisive role in negotiations, selecting not only positions but specific targets. Previously, decisions were centralised with the president and sporting director Marcelo Delgado during the Riquelme era, but the plan now is to prioritise the manager’s requests for the second half of the year.
