Sky Germany reports that Borussia Mönchengladbach are working on bringing Montpellier winger Arnaud Nordin to the club this month.
After a move for former Heidenheim midfielder Jan-Niklas Beste was deemed unlikely due to the high price tag, Gladbach have turned their attention to Ligue 1.
Advanced negotiations have already taken place with Nordin with further negotiations expected soon. The 26-year-old’s contract at his current club Montpellier expires in the summer meaning Die Fohlen will likely try and sign him for a cut-price fee. Nordin will likely be the replacement for Nathan Ngoumou who has been linked with a move back to France this month.
Nordin is a versatile player who can play on either wing as well as upfront. Despite Montpellier sitting dead last in Ligue 1, the 26-year-old has four goals and one assist in 16 games.
The Paris native will be able to play as a backup to Franck Honorat with Tomas Cvancara currently being shoehorned into the position on the right-hand side or can replace Ngoumou and provide an alternative to Robin Hack on the left.
