Bookmakers have reset their predicted final Premier League table after the January window closed, with Leeds United assessed following a quiet deadline day.

According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds tried to sign striker Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves but would not exceed what they considered a sensible valuation because of the club’s Profitability and Sustainability position. A bid was rejected last week as Crystal Palace led rival interest and had a £48m offer accepted amid uncertainty over Jean-Philippe Mateta.

Mateta appeared bound for AC Milan, only for the Italians to walk away. Palace still completed Strand Larsen’s switch from Wolves on deadline day evening. It was the standout deal as Elland Road recorded no ins or outs.

Nottingham Forest left it late to land left-back Luca Netz from Borussia Monchengladbach, but missed Celtic midfielder Arne Engels after a £25m bid was rejected. Third bottom West Ham moved even later to take centre-back Axel Disasi on loan from Chelsea until the end of the campaign.

Based on the latest relegation and title odds, the projected top six is led by Arsenal at two to nine, in from one to three and as short as two to 13 with some firms. Manchester City are second at five to one, out from fours. Manchester United are third, up from fourth, at 50 to one, in from 80s.

Aston Villa are fourth, down from third, at 66 to one, out from 22s. Chelsea are fifth at 175 to one, in from 200s. Liverpool are sixth at 200 to one, in from 250s.
