Final match before international break

We didn't only collect vital UEFA Champions League points against Feyenoord, we gained a great confidence boost in the process. We want to use that to claim another win before the international break in the ADMIRAL Bundesliga when we are back in action this Sunday (10 November) at 14:30 CET.

In FC Blau-Weiß Linz, we are facing opponents who have fallen frustratingly short in recent weeks. Their last four clashes, including a cup last 16 clash against Sturm Graz, were all lost by a single goal. The hosts on Sunday have not won since the end of September against Altach.  Thanks to their good start to the season, the Linz outfit are still in a very respectable eighth spot with 14 points from their opening 12 matches. On the subject of solid - a key pillar for the blue and whites is our midfielder Soumaila Diabate - who has played every single minute of action on loan at the Linz side this season! The 19-year-old didn't feature in our first meeting of the season (as it was before his loan move). The meeting is one we are fond of remembering - as our 5-1 home win is our highest win of the season so far, with Oscar Gloukh's hat-trick stealing the show. That gives us a blueprint to follow on Sunday.

The team showed a real winning mentality on Wednesday when going into the game in a difficult position. It was a strong team performance with a lot of great individual moments. We will need the same mentality and approach on Sunday against Blau-Weiß Linz if we want to put in everything then too. We are facing a team we really respect.

Pepijn Lijnders

They have had a really good season so far, and they have shown they can make things difficult for any Bundesliga opponents. We have needed to recover after the tough Champions League match against Feyenoord to be as fresh as possible against Blau-Weiß. We need that freshness, as we are currently in a situation where we are having to fight hard for every point and every win. Nothing is coming easily, and that won't change on Sunday.
