According to L’Équipe, RC Strasbourg Alsace are set to complete the signings of Junior Mwanga (20) and Dilane Bakwa (20), two of Bordeaux’s most promising emerging talents.
The French publication is reporting that a deal has been struck between Strasbourg and Ligue 2 side Bordeaux for the two transfers. Mwanga and Bakwa will now undergo their medicals with Les Alsaciens early next week before completing their moves.
Both players have the same agent as new Strasbourg manager Patrick Vieira, who reportedly appreciates the versatility of the two players. Mwanga is a centre-back by trade, but is also comfortable pushing up into the midfield, whilst Bakwa scored five times and registered eight assists last season.
Following the completion of BlueCo’s takeover of the club, Strasbourg have substantially increased financial means this summer, which have already been put to use. The Alsace club notably completed the club-record signing of Abakar Sylla, and the arrivals of Mwanga and Bakwa mark the continuation of an ambitious transfer window.
