Bordeaux provisionally placed in Régional 1 for 2026-27 after exclusion from national championships | OneFootball

Bordeaux have been provisionally placed in Régional 1, the sixth tier of French football, for 2026-27 while a possible appeal to the CNOSF is considered.

According to L'Équipe, the club are currently listed in Group B of the division after exclusion from the national championships due to funds not being made available for next season.

The position could yet change, as Bordeaux may file an appeal to the CNOSF seeking reinstatement to National, D4. That would hinge on a sale of the club, probably to the investment fund Sparta, otherwise they would head for R1 and a possible liquidation.

If so, the association chaired by Jean-Louis Triaud would need to meet the costs tied to the affiliation number.

If that proves impossible, the Marine et Blanc would lose their affiliation number and therefore their honours, history and memory.
