Bordeaux to refer case to CNOSF in last bid to avoid administrative relegation

Bordeaux will take their case to the CNOSF in a final attempt to avoid administrative relegation. Excluded from national competitions and provisionally placed in Régional 1, the club are seeking to remain in National 1 (ex-N2).

The step follows the DNCG decision to bar the club from national competitions. The club said in a statement that it has been working on solutions, including proceedings before the commercial court, and that the CNOSF referral forms part of that process.

Turning to the CNOSF is expected to buy a little over a week to raise nine to 10 million euros needed to meet immediate financial deadlines.

Investment fund Sparta Capital remains in the running to take over the club.

If the CNOSF route succeeds, the French federation could reinstate Bordeaux in National 1 (ex-N2), where they played last season.
