Borussia Dortmund administrative trio receives contract extensions  | OneFootball

Borussia Dortmund have extended the contracts of Carsten Cramer, Lars Ricken and Thomas Treß. At the same time, Cramer has been promoted to Chairman of the Management Board with immediate effect.

Cramer’s contract now runs until 2031, while Managing Director of Sports Ricken has extended his deal until 2030. Treß has extended his contract until 2028 and intends to step down from the management board when it expires.

BVB president Hans-Joachim Watzke stated: “I have great confidence in Carsten Cramer and the entire management. He has the experience, the competence and the understanding of the special identity of our club to lead Borussia Dortmund successfully into the future.”

Watzke added: “With the new corporate strategy and the statute process that has been initiated, important projects have been launched that are intended to position BVB for the future in terms of sporting, economic, structural and cultural sustainability. I am convinced that Borussia Dortmund is in very good hands with this management.”

Cramer has been with the club since 2010. In 2018, he was appointed managing director, while he had served as spokesperson for the management board since November 2025.

As Managing Director of Sports, Ricken has been responsible for BVB’s sporting strategic planning since May 2024, among other duties. Treß, meanwhile, has been on the management board since 2006, overseeing finance, organisation, legal affairs and investor relations.
