Borussia Dortmund is challenging Juventus for American star | OneFootball

Juventus want to sign Folarin Balogun but now face competition from Borussia Dortmund for the striker’s signature, according to Tuttojuve. The American forward impressed for his country at the World Cup and came close to joining Everton on deadline day before changing his mind.

That decision reportedly frustrated AS Monaco, who are expected to try to sell Balogun again during the January transfer window. His possible availability would benefit Juventus, who are looking for more attacking options after struggling to score regularly this season.

Although the Bianconeri signed two strikers during the summer, their goalscoring output has remained below expectations. They could therefore decide to recruit another forward in January, with Balogun emerging as a leading candidate for the role.

Juventus Face Dortmund Rivalry

Balogun has been identified as a player Juventus could sign, but they must now convince him to reject a move to Borussia Dortmund. The German club’s interest gives the striker another option and could make the negotiations more challenging for the Bianconeri.

Juventus may have an advantage through Weston McKennie, who is Balogun’s international teammate. The midfielder could help persuade the forward to choose Turin rather than move to Dortmund, particularly if he can explain the opportunities available to him in Italy.

Balogun would be expected to provide greater attacking threat and improve Juventus’ efficiency in front of goal. His pace and ability to operate as a central striker could offer Spalletti another option in the final third.

Juventus must still reach an agreement with Monaco before the transfer can take place. The French club will be pleased that Balogun has attracted interest from more than one suitor, as competition could help them secure a higher fee.

The Bianconeri will need to decide how much they are willing to pay while also persuading Balogun that Turin is the right destination for the next stage of his career.
