As we get closer and closer to the midway point in the season, transfer rumors regarding players that Borussia Dortmund may be looking to bring in are ramping up. This is despite the reports indicating that Dortmund doesn’t plan to make any winter window signings.
The Eredivisie has become a point of focus for Dortmund apparently with the club now linked with three players from the Dutch top flight. Previous reports have indicated that Dortmund could make a move for PSV Eindhoven’s Oliver Boscagli to improve the defense, with Ricardo Pepi also said to be in the club's sights. The latter of course seems to make little sense considering the club already have two players in the form of Serhou Guirassy and Maximilian Beier that fill the striker position.
The most recent name to pop up as a rumored candidate for transfer, however, comes from Feyenoord's academy. According to reports from the Netherlands, Dortmund may be keen to make a move for talented midfielder Thijs Kraaijeveld. The report indicates that Dortmund is one of many clubs keen on attaining his services, particularly because his contract will be up at the end of the season.
Kraaijeveld still plays for Feyenoord’s under-19s, but his talent saw him train with Feyenoord’s first team under Arne Slot. His profile very much fits into the type of player Thomas Broich would want to add to Dortmund’s youth setup.
A move for Kraaijeveld, while not confirmed, would be the type of addition Dortmund could make this winter for the following summer, especially considering financial outlay would be minimal due to the contract situation. Unless Feyenoord ties him down to a new deal, it is likely that a club like Dortmund, or Feyenoord’s domestic rivals PSV Eindhoven, would be happy to capitalize on making the player an offer.
