Enzo Maresca says new signing Ayyoub Bouaddi is available for selection in Friday’s Premier League trip to Crystal Palace.

And Maresca says the midfielder is in the right physical condition to play.

“He is ready, he was working with his former club so he is fit,” he said in Thursday’s press conference.

“We will see how long it is in terms of adaptation but for sure he is ready to go.”

Asked about what the 18-year-old can bring to his squad, Maresca was full of praise for Bouaddi but insisted that there shouldn’t be too much pressure on him early on.

“He’s quite calm,” he began.

“He doesn’t look 18 - he looks older which is important but in this case we need to go slowly because he is young, came from a different country.

“No rush for him. For sure he will help us now and in the future. But he is just 18.

“It is my job and it’s the club’s job to manage him in the best way, don’t put pressure on him, he is young and he needs time.”

The boss also gave a general update on the fitness of his squad, highlighting both Jérémy Doku and Matheus Nunes.

Doku missed last Sunday’s win over Bournemouth after coming off at half-time of the Community Shield, while Nunes was a second half substitute in that Bournemouth game.

“Jeremy is out,” he said.

“Matheus we will see, he is still not 100%.”
