Bouanga, Son guide LAFC victory Real España

SAN PEDRO SULA, Honduras – The 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup continued with Los Angeles FC defeating Real CD España 6-1 in the first leg of their Round One series on Tuesday at Estadio Francisco Morazán in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
Denis Bouanga placed LAFC in front at the 3’ by successfully converting an attempt from the penalty spot.
David Martínez added another for the California side in the 11’ on a fast break, scoring inside the box to capitalize on a through ball from Son Heung-Min.
LAFC extended its lead with back-to-back strikes. Son himself got on the scoresheet by converting a penalty in the 22’. Bouanga scored his second of the night with an effort from the center of the box in the 24’, as Son picked up the assist.
Timothy Tilman scored a stunner from close range in the 39’, sending a grounded pass from Son to the back of the net with a fantastic backheel finish.
Jack Jean-Baptiste shortened the deficit for the hosts in the 51’, through a header, after Jhow Benavídez delivered a ball into the box on a set piece opportunity.
Bouanga secured his hat-trick in the 71’ to round out the victory for LAFC, striking from the center of the box following a perfectly weighted pass from Sergi Palencia.
The two sides will meet for the second leg next Tuesday at BMO Stadium in Los Angeles, California, USA. The winner on aggregate will advance to the Round of 16.
