Bournemouth and Brentford share spoils in goalless draw | OneFootball

Bournemouth extended their unbeaten Premier League run to nine matches but were left frustrated after a 0-0 draw with Brentford on the south coast.

The home side dictated much of the contest and fashioned the better openings, yet once again could not find a breakthrough against opponents they have struggled to overcome in recent seasons.

Marcus Tavernier was at the heart of their best moments. He curled narrowly wide in the first half and later struck the post twice after the interval - first when stretching to meet a low delivery, and again from a tight angle as Bournemouth pressed on the counter.

Ryan Christie also wasted a promising chance when clean through, while James Hill headed over from close range. Brentford goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher was not overly troubled, but he was well positioned when called upon.

Evanilson briefly thought he had settled it after weaving through defenders, only for the offside flag to halt celebrations. Substitute Eli Junior Kroupi then dragged a stoppage-time effort wide to sum up a night of near misses.

Bournemouth climb to ninth, while Brentford remain seventh as both sides continue to eye European qualification.
