Strengthening the goalkeeping department has been under consideration all summer, and discussions with the Serie A club are expected to continue over the weekend.

Di Gregorio has attracted significant interest and is set to leave Juventus, with Marseille among those to have spoken with the Italian club.

Bournemouth had hoped to mirror last season’s set-up, with Fraser Forster acting as third-choice mentor and Christos Mandas competing with Djordje Petrovic.

Re-signing Mandas from Lazio was not feasible after Ivan Provedel moved to Inter Milan, so Will Dennis was weighed up as Petrovic’s understudy.

The original plan was to loan Dennis out for regular football after his impressive spell at Leyton Orient last term. If Di Gregorio arrives, another loan for the Englishman would likely follow.

The Italian came through Inter Milan’s academy, taking loans at Renate, Novara, Pordenone and Monza, before joining Monza permanently in 2022.

He moved to Juventus from Monza in 2025 after a loan to Turin in the 24/25 campaign, and has since made 84 appearances, keeping 36 clean sheets, including five in 14 Champions League games. He previously played 144 times for Monza.
