Bournemouth insists two Arsenal targets will not leave in January

Arsenal are among the clubs monitoring Bournemouth’s leading players, with the Cherries continuing to exceed expectations in the Premier League. They have built an impressive squad by signing players whom larger clubs may have considered unprepared for English football, and they are now benefiting from those recruitment decisions.

Bournemouth narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification last season but secured Europa League football, representing a strong achievement. Several of their players stood out during that campaign, attracting interest from clubs looking to strengthen their squads.

Arsenal are interested in two of Bournemouth’s key players, Alex Scott and Eli Junior Kroupi. The Gunners could consider making an approach during the January transfer window, but Bournemouth are not expected to allow either player to leave during the season.

Bournemouth Reject January Sales

Caught Offside claims that the Cherries insist Scott, Rayan and Kroupi will remain at the club until the end of the season. Bournemouth therefore have no intention of allowing their three leading players to depart midway through the campaign, regardless of the interest they receive.

That decision means Arsenal’s most realistic opportunity to sign Scott or Kroupi would come during the summer. The Gunners could revisit their interest then if they still believe either player would improve their squad.

Bournemouth’s stance reflects the importance of keeping their strongest players together. Selling them in January could weaken the team during the second half of the season, particularly while they continue competing in the Premier League and Europa League.

Arsenal Must Wait

For now, Scott and Kroupi will focus on helping Bournemouth finish the season strongly. Kroupi is also working his way back to full fitness after suffering an injury during pre season, meaning his immediate priority is returning to the pitch.

Arsenal will continue monitoring both players before deciding whether to pursue a deal. If Bournemouth maintain their position, the Gunners will have to wait until the summer and determine whether the pair remain priorities.

A strong second half of the campaign could increase their value, but it could also strengthen Arsenal’s belief that they should make an offer. Bournemouth will hope their key players remain focused on the club’s objectives until the end of the season.
