As per Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth are set to complete the signing of Gaetano Castrovilli from Fiorentina.

The final details of the deal are now being sealed, and The Cherries are set to pay the Italian side €12m, plus potential add-ons.

Furthermore, personal terms between the player and the club have also been agreed, meaning he is now set to make the move to the English top flight.

The 26-year-old moved to La Viola from Bari for €1.9m in 2017, and has made 125 appearances for the club since, playing predominantly in central or attacking midfield and impressing with his excellent technical ability. The Italian international’s most impressive season came in the 2020/21 Serie A campaign, where he scored five and assisted three in 29 starts. These performances saw his market value rise to €25m, as estimated by Transfermarkt, however a significant knee injury suffered in April 2022 saw him limited to just seven league starts last season-resulting in his market value dropping to just €10m.

Consequently, Andoni Iraola’s new side will hope the midfielder can regain the form he has previously displayed- as they look to bolster their squad and improve upon their 15th place Premier League finish last season.

Castrovilli’s potential arrival would mark another chapter of what has already been a busy summer at the Vitality stadium this summer. Romain Faivre has joined from Lyon and has been loaned out immediately to Lorient, talented left-back Milos Kerkez has arrived for €17m from AZ Alkmaar, whilst Justin Kluivert has also been signed for just over €10m from Roma.

These new signings, and their Spanish head coach Iraola, will have their first league game at the South Coast club on August 12, when Bournemouth will host David Moyes’ West Ham.
