Man United v Newcastle insight and tips

20:00 - Alan Shearer on Man United v Newcastle

Alan Shearer: Manchester United are missing some big players due to AFCON, but they're also missing Bruno Fernandes, which will be a big thing for them. Newcastle have defensive problems. Lewis Miley was brilliant at right-back, and in that first-half, Newcastle were much more like themselves. The second-half wasn't as good. It's a really tough one to predict. It could go either way, so I'd probably sit on the fence and say draw.

There are so many possibilities here and you think: "What happens if this happens?" That is why I'm going to go for a draw. It's a massive game for both clubs. The night time kick-off should make it a cracking atmosphere. I think it will be a scoring draw, and everyone will be watching that game.

20:00 - Paul Higham's match preview

Paul Higham: What both sides have been doing consistently is scoring and conceding goals. Only Man City have scored more than Man Utd but only five teams have let in more - and both sides have seen both teams score in nine of their last 10 Premier League games. Both teams to score at Old Trafford looks assured at 8/15. Bruno Fernandes will be a huge miss for United as they've lost the last four league games he hasn't played in, while Ruben Amorim is also without Bryan Mbeumo, Amad Diallo and Noussair Mazraoui who are away at AFCON. We'll surely get goals, but I don't think we'll get a winner.

We'll finish with a nice 6/1 Boxing Day Bet Builder based on Mount and Barnes both having a shot on target, but adding in a couple of foul shouts. Mount has been active here in his recent run in the team, giving away two fouls in two of three games. Anthony Gordon is always one to keep an eye on here, especially for his ability to win fouls as he showed against Chelsea when he was fouled three times by the Londoners. Gordon's had 11 games being fouled multiple times so let's hope he can make that 12 to give us a nice festive return.

EFL Tips and Predictions

12:30 Birmingham v Derby: Back Both Teams to Score

Jack Critchley: The former Spurs coach has failed to stop the rot on the road with Birmingham haemorrhaging goals away from St. Andrews and there was an imbalance in the XI, which resulted in some indiscipline. The good news for Blues fans is that they are back at home on Boxing Day, and if they are to keep their play-off ambitions alive, they must continue picking up maximum points in front of their own fans. Although they've won two of their last three here, they haven't managed a clean sheet in any of those games.

13:00 Milwall v Ipswich Town: Back goals at both ends

Opta Stat: Ipswich Town have kept just one clean sheet in their last 27 away league games, winning 2-0 at Hull City last month.

15:00 Coventry v Swansea: Leaders to sneak past the spirited swans

Jack Critchley: It was a decent weekend for Coventry with the Sky Blues taking a point from their trip to Southampton as Boro slipped up at Ashton Gate. It wasn't straightforward for the leaders, and their preparations were marred by a sickness bug which swept through the camp. Frank Lampard praised his side's back-to-the-wall approach which earned them a point and they kept the previously potent Saints at arm's length for long periods of the second half.

It's a change of narrative for Cov, who have looked defensively susceptible in recent weeks and that bodes well for this home clash with Swansea. Cov should be close to full strength here, notwithstanding the injury to Brandon Thomas-Asante, and they will have enough firepower to take three points and continue to set the pace, although I expect the visitors to keep it tight for long periods.

17:30 Wrexham vs Sheffield United - Back bet builder at 5/1

Opta Stat: Wrexham have won their last two Football League games on Boxing Day, last winning more consecutively between 1928 and 1932 (5).

Striker Kieffer Moore has scored eight goals this season - more than anyone else on either team.

15:00 Luton v Wycombe (League One) - Back an away win at 21/10

Alan Dudman:  As long as Luton keep getting priced up as potential title contenders, we continue to oppose them. Once again we are presented with a short price for Jack Wilshire's team who sit in eighth spot with just three wins at home and 10 scored.

It doesn't make we want to rush to the counter to take the 5/4 on offer.

Wycombe earned a superb 2-1 victory on Saturday against Bolton, a big win, and now Michael Duff's team need to improve on their awful away record.

15:00 MK Dons v Swindon (League Two) - Back BTTS in firt half at 3/1

Alan Dudman: Swindon have provided some cheer of late for the column and was with one of two bright spots in Saturday's edition with a win. They also helped us to that 3/1 winner recently with a BTTS in the first half bet, and that's one to explore once again with Ian Holloway's side.

The MK Dons will be out for a statement win themselves in fifth, and they entertain second in a promotion settler.

The Robins have netted 18 times away from the County Ground this term and only two teams have scored more away than Swindon.

The hosts were held to a recent 1-1 in MK by Cambridge, and Swindon would pose more of a goal threat than the Us, so we can explore the angle with BTTS early again here and Swindon, while holding a poor record in winning just one of their last seven away Boxing Day fixtures (D3 L3), but it's a run in which they've failed to keep a single clean sheet.
