Bradley Barcola has opted not to extend his Paris Saint-Germain contract, which runs until 2028, according to L'Équipe.

He delayed a final call until after the World Cup, then ended talks on a new deal. The 23-year-old did so despite a proposal that included a sizeable pay rise.

This is a sporting choice. Used largely as a 12th man on the flank, he did not wish to prolong under the same terms, a role that left him a substitute in both Champions League finals.

Whether that means a departure this summer remains the question for the coming weeks. Four clubs have expressed interest, Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Chelsea, although Chelsea have been ruled out.

Any move will also hinge on the wider European market for wingers.
