Liverpool are hoping to sign Bradley Barcola from PSG before the summer transfer window closes.
According to Ben Jacobs, they are expected to submit a formal offer for the 23-year-old international soon, and a lucrative offer in the same range as what is being paid for players like Morgan Rogers and Yan Diomande could be enough to close the deal.
“I still think Liverpool will place a formal bid between now and the end of the window,” Jacobs said. “Ultimately, if it’s more than Morgan Rogers, it’s more than Elliot Anderson [£116m], and it’s closer in money to the Yan Diomande deal, it stands a very realistic chance of getting done.”
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool is ready to break the Bank for him. It is no secret that they need more quality on the flanks, and Barcola would be an upgrade on the current options.
He is a young player with a lot of potential, and regular football in the Premier League could bring out the best in him. However, the asking price is quite high, and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds. The player will hope to sort out his future quickly so he can focus on his football. It is being reported that the attacker is open to joining Liverpool so that he can play every week.
Liverpool had a disappointing season last year, and they are looking to bounce back strongly. They are in a period of transition under a new manager, and they have also lost key players like Mohamed Salah. Signing top-quality attacking players will be a priority.
Barcola will help create opportunities for his teammates with his explosive pace and trickery in the final third. He can score goals as well. The French international registered 20 goal contributions for PSG across all competitions last season, despite not starting regularly for them.
