Brazil boss to watch Corinthians match in the Campeonato Brasileiro

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) confirmed, on the night of last Tuesday (24), that coach Carlo Ancelotti and the general executive coordinator of the Men's National Teams, Rodrigo Caetano, will closely follow the match between Corinthians and Cruzeiro.

The match is scheduled for this Wednesday, at 8:00 PM, at Mineirão, valid for the fourth round of the Brazilian Championship. The Italian coach will be observing possible names for the next National Team call-up, which will be announced on March 16, ahead of the friendlies against France and Croatia. This will be the last list before the World Cup.

Since taking over as head coach of the Brazilian National Football Team in May last year, Ancelotti has called up only one player from Timão: Hugo Souza. The goalkeeper appeared on the coach's first four lists but ended up being cut from the most recent call-up due to injury. His only opportunity as a starter came on October 14, in the 3-2 defeat to Japan in a friendly match.

Other Corinthians players will also be on the coaching staff's radar. Given the shortage of options at full-back, Matheus Bidu and Matheuzinho are expected to be observed. However, as reported, the tendency is that neither of them will start the match as a starter.

The team currently managed by Dorival Júnior is expected to take the field with some changes. This is because, on Saturday at 8:30 PM, Corinthians will face Novorizontino at Estádio Dr. Jorge Ismael de Biasi, in a match valid for the semifinals of the Campeonato Paulista.

The coach of the Brazilian National Team, Carlo Ancelotti, and the general executive coordinator of Men's National Teams at CBF, Rodrigo Caetano, will be in Belo Horizonte this Wednesday (25) to closely follow the match between Cruzeiro and Corinthians, valid for the fourth round of the 2026 Brazilian Championship, at Mineirão.

Continuing the work of observing matches in the main national tournament, the commander of the Amarelinha will see up close one of the main classics of Brazilian football.

In Curitiba, technical coordinator Juan Santos and physical preparation coordinator Cristiano Nunes will watch Coritiba vs. São Paulo at Couto Pereira.

In Europe, members of the National Team's coaching staff continue to follow the main leagues on the continent, including Champions League matches.
