Brazil fight back to defeat Australia in Brisbane | OneFootball

Just days after Brazil needed a stoppage-time leveller to draw with Australia, this time they managed an entertaining win in Brisbane.

Carlo Ancelotti's side had taken the lead inside the first few minutes of the game after an excellent strike from AS Monaco defender Vanderson for his first international goal.

Australia fought back though, first levelling the score in the 29th minute when Connor Metcalfe put in a corner from the right that another defender, this time Benfica's Alessandro Circati, was able to convert with an improvised flick.

Four minutes later, the home side were ahead. This time it was Metcalfe on the edge of the area with a fantastic effort that Otávio Costa couldn't keep out.

Both sides went into the break level after Raphinha's penalty which was awarded after a look at the VAR screen which showed that Harry Souttar had tripped Danilo Santos.

There were some farcical scenes with just over an hour gone when Endrick decided to aggravate Souttar in a real David v Goliath contest. The Real Madrid man then went on to disgrace himself by jumping to the ground clutching his face after a member of the Australia coaching staff had the audacity to touch him on the arm.

A few minutes after Endrick's embarrassment we got to see his talent as he rolled the ball across the goal for Bruno Guimarães to finish from close range after a fine attacking move.

The game was then wrapped up in the 80th minute when Vinícius Júnior was brought down before dusting himself off to make it 4-2.

In the end it was an admirable effort from the Socceroos who just didn't quite have the quality to match their illustrious opponents.
