RESULT:

FULL TIME! EVERTON 0-1 MANCHESTER UNITED

Šeško's goal is the difference once again for United who hang on for a crucial three points.

They move back into fourth and are just three points off Aston Villa in third.

Cunha does brilliantly to hold off Garner and win United a goal kick.

Šeško almost gets a second but Pickford does very well to come out and close him down.

It's followed by a Tyrique George strike that Lammens keeps a hold of.

Five minutes of added time for United to hold on or Everton to equalise.

Another corner for Everton comes to nothing.

United have really struggled to get a hold of the ball since their goal but they have a precious lead late on here.

Everton are piling on the pressure with corner after corner.

Just over five minutes to go.

Lammens does very well to claim another corner.

He's had an excellent game here.

GOAL! UNITED LEAD!

And like that, it's 1-0.

Cunha plays a brilliant ball across the field to Mbeumo on the break.

He finds Šeško, who slots coolly past Pickford.

The striker just can't stop scoring right now.

Cunha does very well to block Garner's attempted drive.

Everton feel the more likely to score here.

Lammens does well to claim Tarkowski's cross after a corner comes the Everton captain's way.

Cunha slips just as he's about to release Šeško in on goal.

He could have passed earlier and a good chance is wasted.

Such low quality on show here.

He's scored off the bench in two of his last three games. What odds on another here?

It's Amad who goes off for the Slovenian striker.

Cunha will shift to the left with Mbeumo on the right.

Šeško is about to come on.

In truth, any of the front three could come off.

Dalot then runs onto a fine lofted ball from Fernandes.

He doesn't know whether to shoot or cross and ends up doing neither well.

BIG MISS!

Mbeumo just has to do better with that chance.

Mainoo whips a fine ball in that Tarkowski can only clear into the air and the forward blasts over from a tight angle.

Should be hitting the target there.

Benjamin Šeško was tipped to start by many and it surely won't be long before he's brought on here.

CLOSE!

Iliman Ndiaye turns Casemiro before playing the ball into the box.

It comes to Harrison Armstrong but his shot is saved by Lammens.

SECOND HALF KICKS OFF!

Let's hope for a quick improvement.

About to get back under way.

United have scored eight of their 11 goals under Michael Carrick in the second half.

They really need to step it up as do Everton.

HALF TIME!

Goalless at the break.

Surely things will pick up in the second half?

Fernandes fires over from outside the box. It should be a corner but it isn't given.

Not a great half from the United skipper here.

Three minutes added on.

Amad has a chance to put Fernandes through on the right but his pass is under hit.

A very sloppy last 20 for United.

Amad foolishly fouls Idrissa Gana Gueye but the resulting free-kick from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is well held by Lammens.

Could really do with a goal here.

Mbeumo has his first sighting of goal after good work from Dalot but drags the ball well wide of the post.

Sums up both sides' attacks so far.

Dalot comes close, firing a half-volley just wide of the post after Fernandes' free-kick comes his way outside the box.

The quality levels in this game have significantly dropped with neither side passing the ball well or with urgency.

Fernandes has his first involvement inside the Everton box, brilliantly dummying the ball to send Jarrad Branthwaite flying.

However, his cross comes to nothing.

United have dominated possession so far but done little with it.

Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo are yet to truly get into the game.

Pickford's long ball are an unsurprising theme to the early stages here.

He looks like he'll be okay to continue.

Tarkowski is down holding his shoulder an aerial collision with Amad.

The Everton skipper comes flying over the United winger and lands uncomfortably.

The Portuguese full-back then is put to work at the other end, doing well to get to a Pickford long ball.

Dalot tests Pickford with a driven cross-cum-shot.

Nice switch of play from Casemiro to create that opening.

SO CLOSE!

United are inches away from an opener.

Amad's shot is just stopped from going over the line by James Tarkowski after a pinball in the box.

A very lively start here.

The ball goes straight back to Senne Lammens but Thierno Barry is right there to block his kick.

The United keeper is relieved to see the ball fly away for a corner.

KICK OFF!

And we're off at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Five minutes away from kick off.

There looks to be a serious atmosphere for the first meeting between two historic clubs at Everton's new home.

The Toffees haven't won here in 2026 though. Can United add to their woes?

Michael Carrick has got off to a brilliant start in his second stint in temporary charge of United and is looking for his fifth win from six games.

David Moyes is looking to complete the double over his former club for the first time in his career after a famous win with 10 men at Old Trafford back in November.

Ruben Amorim was then in charge so tonight is likely to be a very different type of contest.

United will return to fourth place if they avoid a loss while a win will push them three clear of both Chelsea and Liverpool, and just three off Aston Villa.

As for the Toffees, they will leapfrog Bournemouth with a point but could climb as high as 7th with a big win.
