Brenden Aaronson says this has been the best year of his career and credits Daniel Farke with reviving his Leeds United spell. According to Leedsunited.news, the midfielder believes the manager effectively saved his time at Elland Road.

Aaronson joined from Salzburg in a £25m move as one of Jesse Marsch’s first signings. His debut campaign in England proved difficult, yielding one goal in 40 appearances.

After relegation, he appeared unlikely to play for Leeds again and spent the following season on loan at Union Berlin amid supporter anger over exit clauses. Farke chose to bring him back in summer 2024, a call that now looks justified.

This season he has made 34 Premier League appearances, including 27 starts and more than 2,200 league minutes, with four goals and five assists. The USA international has covered attacking midfield, wide roles and even a second striker slot when required.

Much of his value comes without the ball, reflected in 209 defensive contributions, 124 recoveries and 50 tackles, plus 14 final-third regains. That off-ball work helps explain Farke’s trust even when his end product is debated.

A year ago his Leeds future was uncertain, now he is talking about a longer stay and remains under contract until 2027. The resurgence highlights Aaronson’s resilience and Farke’s management.
