Corinthians are in a turbulent spell in the Brasileiro, with four straight defeats leaving them 11 points off the G6 and only seven above the relegation places.
The midfielder Breno Bidon spoke after a 1-1 draw with Estudiantes in the first leg of the Libertadores quarter-finals, assessing their domestic form, according to Meu Timao.
He acknowledged the team’s inconsistency but expressed belief in a response, stressing the squad’s unity and daily work to improve. Bidon said the group know their quality and do not feel they must prove anything to outsiders.
The slide has included defeats to Cruzeiro 2-1, Coritiba 2-1, Santos 1-0 and Chapecoense 2-1. Failure to pick up points this weekend would equal a five-match league losing streak last recorded in 1997.
Fernando Diniz’s side sit 11th on 32 points. They visit leaders Flamengo at the Maracanã on Sunday at 17:30 in the 27th round.
