Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo is on Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim’s four-man shortlist of strikers, according to Sky Sports.

The Cameroonian has been one of the Premier League’s best forwards this season, bagging 13 goals and three assists in 22 appearances.

He is also on Arsenal’s radar. They need to bolster their attack due to the injuries to Gabriel Jesus and Bukayo Saka.

The 25-year-old has been linked with league leaders Liverpool as doubts continue to surround Mohamed Salah’s future at the club.

Amorim considers him a top target. The Portuguese wants to reinforce his struggling attack by signing the Brentford star.

Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have scored eight league goals between them, five less than Mbeumo’s tally this term.

It would be difficult for Man United to strike a deal with Brentford for the Cameroon international this month due to its financial implications.

Manager Thomas Frank has stated that it would require a ‘big fee’, which he cannot ‘imagine the size of’, for the Bees to part ways with their star forward in this transfer window.

Wolverhampton Wanders star Matheus Cunha, Ipswich Town centre-forward Liam Delap and Lille striker Jonathan David are also on Amorim’s hit list.

Cunha has reached a verbal agreement with Wolves for a new deal, but there are still ‘final details to clarify’, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

This has kept the door open for the Brazilian to leave Molineux this month, but United may be priced out of a move for him.

Delap has been one of the brightest prospects in the league this season, registering eight goals in 21 games for a struggling Ipswich side.

He will probably leave the Tractor Boys in the summer. The Red Devils will need to pay a sizeable fee to get his signature, as Chelsea are also monitoring his situation.

David is another target for United. He is one of Ligue 1’s best strikers and has impressed in the Champions League this season.

He scored against Liverpool at Anfield last night to take his tally to five goals in the competition.

His contract with Lille expires in the summer, making him a more appealing target for the Red Devils.
