Brentford have made a formal enquiry for Burnley forward Zian Flemming ahead of Leeds United

Burnley's relegation back to the Championship surely means the Clarets will be powerless to resist interest in some of their star assets, as news surrounding one of their attacking stars emerged, which supporters will hate.

Things at Turf Moor are beginning to heat up, but not in the way Burnley fans would have hoped.

Since the dismissal of Scott Parker two months ago after relegation was confirmed, the Clarets have yet to appoint a new permanent head coach, but that hasn't been for the lack of trying, especially recently.

It seemed, for all intents and purposes, that Wales boss Craig Bellamy would return to the club as the new permanent head coach, two years after working as an assistant under Vincent Kompany, with a compensation fee agreed with the Welsh FA of around £700k.

Burnley were reportedly also willing to quadruple his salary to bring him back to Lancashire, but that deal has now fallen through, with Rob Edwards and Steve Cooper touted as their next targets.

Now, with Burnley back to square one in their managerial hunt, supporters won't welcome the news that interest in one of their attacking stars is beginning to intensify, as fresh fears of an exit emerge.

When Burnley were promoted last season, each of CJ Egan-Riley, Josh Brownhill, and James Trafford, each of whom was integral to their 100-point campaign, all left the club.

The Clarets were powerless to prevent their star assets from departing despite promotion, and following relegation, it's doubtful that would change.

Zian Flemming is now arguably Burnley's star asset, with the Dutchman having hit double digits for goals in the top-flight for the club despite relegation.

Flemming, 27, joined Burnley from Millwall on loan in the summer of 2024 with an obligation to buy for £7 million, which was triggered last summer after a stellar year in the second tier for the Clarets, in which he managed 12 goals and four assists in 35 league games.

This time around, Flemming hit 11 goals in 29 Premier League games and has since attracted interest from the likes of Brentford, Leeds United, Everton, Ipswich Town, and Coventry City.

according to FootballInsider, have made a formal enquiry for Flemming this summer.

The Bees' transfer model for much of the last decade under professional gambler Matthew Benham has been truly exceptional, and guided them from the depths of the EFL to a side regularly competing for European football, as Flemming falls in line with that policy.

With Brazil striker Igor Thiago likely retaining his place up top at the Gtech Stadium next season, the Dutchman will likely arrive as strong competition for that spot, whilst also being capable of playing slightly deeper if required.

Burnley will reportedly listen to offers in the region of around €20m (£17.3m) for Flemming, with each of the aforementioned sides more than capable of matching those demands.

Under contract until the summer of 2029, Burnley are under no obligation to sell the Dutchman on the cheap, and will be actively doing everything they can to maximise their profit in the event of a sale.

Brentford are looking to get their noses in front of Leeds for his services, as the battle for his signature begins to intensify.

It goes without saying that Flemming is Burnley's star attacker, and his departure would be greatly felt.

However, with things preparing to be shaken up at Turf Moor, Clarets fans have reacted to the news of interest in Flemming and provided varying opinions.

This Burnley fan seems happy to sell Flemming, but only for a price they deem to be acceptable, which is in the range of £25 million with bonuses.

This Clarets supporter is using the logic that if Southampton's Shea Charles is coming under bids worth £20 million from Leeds, then Flemming, by definition, must be worth almost double.

This Burnley fan continues the notion that they are happy to sell Flemming this summer, but only for a profit they deem to be acceptable.
