Keith Andrews has ruled out Mathias Jensen and Josh Dasilva for Saturday’s Premier League meeting with Sunderland due to injury.
Hounslow Herald reports that Jensen missed the draw at Leeds and remains sidelined with a minor issue. Andrews said he has missed this week, possibly next.
Dasilva started for Brentford U21s in a 5-1 win over Sunderland U21s but limped off before the half-hour after earlier knocks. Andrews explained it was a hamstring tweak and he probably will not feature until the international break. The setback is not considered serious as he builds fitness after his 818-day knee lay-off and three operations, having completed his first pre-season in three years.
Antoni Milambo is close to returning from his ACL injury sustained last October. He joined 11v11 work on Wednesday and recovered well. The plan is for B Team minutes in the next couple of weeks.
Defender Sepp Van Den Berg has missed the opening three games with a groin problem. He has been back on the grass for around 10 days and a return after the international break is viewed as realistic.
Brentford have four points from their first two league matches, a 3-0 win over Tottenham followed by a 1-1 draw at Leeds. They beat Birmingham 6-1 in the Carabao Cup to set up Reading next.
