Brentford Women B are delighted to announce the return of coaching duo Tommy Ryan-Maynard as head coach and Will Blithing as assistant coach.

Both coaches join the Bees having previously won promotions in charge of the B team.

Ryan-Maynard’s first stint at the club began when he joined in July 2018 as Brentford Women B assistant coach and progressed to lead the side as head coach for the 2022/23 and 2023/24 seasons.

After taking a year out of coaching, Ryan-Maynard returns to the B team as the side look to bounce back from relegation to the Greater London Division One North - the league in which he gained promotion from with the Bees in the 2023/24 season.

Blithing also comes back to the club having joined at the beginning of the 2018/19 season as head coach of the B team, before leaving at the end of the 2021/22 season with Ryan-Maynard taking over the role.

As such, the duo has plenty of experience coaching the west Londoners, as well as an excellent relationship having both been assistant coaches to each other in the Bees set-up.

“I’m really excited to be back,” said Ryan-Maynard. “We’ve got a fantastic project here and I can’t wait to get started again.

“Me and Will have a great connection together and we’ve been successful together so hopefully we can recreate that. We want to be promoted this season and help to build this team and sculpt players for the future, making that connection between the trust and the club.

“We are both buzzing for it, it’s really nice to see people like Asees Sangha coming through, who came from our trust from year 4 through to the first team. I’m sure there will be plenty more examples like her.”

Brentford Women’s Football Consultant Lois Fidler said

“Tommy and Will returning to Brentford FC Women to drive our evolving B Team programme has given us an added boost. They have both been involved in developing the women's game for a number of years.

"With strong, established networks across the London regional leagues plus experience of players and competitions, their insight will prove invaluable.

"Tommy's pathway lead role at the Community Sports Trust Emerging Talent Centre (ETC) means he is also perfectly placed to support a growing and more connected pathway for Women & Girls football."

The B team begin their campaign this Sunday 7 September as they take on CB Hounslow & Abbots away from home at CB Hounslow, Green Lane (2pm kick-off).
