The Congolese striker is set to join the Magpies after a standoff with Brentford and a deal finalized this Monday

Yoane Wissa has secured his much-coveted transfer to Newcastle United this Monday. The Magpies have reached an agreement with Brentford for £55 million, or €63.5 million. The Congolese international traveled to Tyneside to undergo his medical in the afternoon.
Newcastle stepped up their pursuit all summer to pry Wissa away from the Bees. The St James' Park board had faced several rejections, including a £35 million bid plus £5 million in bonuses just two weeks ago. Brentford were holding out for a fee close to £60 million to release their star striker.
Tensions escalated in recent days when the 28-year-old forward publicly voiced his frustration on social media. He called out the club for changing their stance, accusing the management of breaking their promise to let him leave this summer. That public outburst helped break the deadlock in negotiations.
Newcastle, searching for a replacement for Alexander Isak, tabled an offer of £50 million plus £5 million in add-ons, which finally convinced the Bees. The player arrived in Newcastle in the morning to finalize the last details of the contract. The Magpies, who have already signed Nick Woltemade for €90 million, are now bolstering their attacking line with a second Premier League striker.
