With one week left in the transfer window, Brest aim to keep all their key players and still recruit a back-up goalkeeper and a versatile forward.

According to L'Équipe, Julien Lachuer set out to protect the club’s core at the start of the season, when Stade Brestois had 11 players entering the final year of their deals.

The head coach has already lost his goalkeepers, including first-choice Grégoire Coudert, and does not want further senior departures in the final stretch.

That stance covers Ajorque, Baldé, Chardonnet, Del Castillo, Lala, Locko, Magnetti and Tousart.

The same applies to Raphaël Le Guen, who turns 20 on 1 September and is considered probably the club’s biggest saleable asset.

Lachuer said last weekend that talented players attract attention and that the priority is to keep the best performers.
