Stade Brestois travel to Le Havre on Saturday at 20:45 for matchday three of Ligue 1, but will be without Brendan Chardonnet and Mamady Diambou. Despite late-window reinforcements this week, Brest remain short in places.
According to L'Équipe, Chardonnet has yet to feature this season because of a calf tear. Head coach Julien Lachuer says the defender’s rehabilitation is progressing well and he is close to resuming running, noting the player tends to recover quicker than most.
Diambou injured an ankle in training. Lachuer indicated the ligaments were not affected and nothing appeared alarming at this stage, with further tests pending.
Third-choice goalkeeper Romain Cagnon is also sidelined after a shoulder problem.
Djylian N'Guessan, the 18-year-old forward loaned from Saint-Étienne earlier this week, did not complete a pre-season in the Forez and will not make the trip.
The match should see Hugo Magnetti make his first start of the season in midfield after hamstring issues over the summer.
