Sunderland are among the clubs tracking Villarreal midfielder Pape Gueye, while fresh claims have linked Brian Brobbey with Juventus. TEAMtalk reports Everton are considering Gueye amid a midfield reshuffle.

Idrissa Gana Gueye is now a free agent after his Everton contract expired. Everton are expected to complete Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, with an initial 36.5 million reportedly agreed.

Pape Gueye, 27, joined Villarreal from Marseille in 2024 and has become influential in LaLiga. The report says Everton’s interest is genuine, with Crystal Palace, Brighton and Sunderland also monitoring.

Tuttomercatoweb claims Brobbey has been offered to Juventus during their search for attacking reinforcements. He is suggested as an alternative to Randal Kolo Muani, with a fee between 30.1 million and 34.4 million said to start talks.

That figure appears difficult to square from a Sunderland perspective. Brobbey only arrived last summer and is central to the Premier League project, so any suggestion Sunderland would entertain such a sale should be treated with caution.

It also feels unlikely Sunderland would tout their leading striker amid the Granit Xhaka transfer saga. The valuation looks presumptive, seemingly overlooking Brobbey’s status and contract, and any serious discussion would likely demand a higher figure.
