Brighton and Hove Albion have confirmed the signing of Zadok Yohanna from AIK Stockholm on a five-year contract. The 18-year-old right winger passed his medical on Saturday and will finalise a £21.5 million move when the transfer window opens on 15 June.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle United enquired about the Nigerian after selling Anthony Gordon to Barcelona last month in a deal worth up to €80 million (£69.3m, $93.2m).

Yohanna has two goals and three assists in 10 appearances in the 2026 season, with Stockholm 10th. He also featured in six Allsvenskan matches in 2025 and has scored three times in the Swedish Cup in his first year of senior football.

Hurzeler is looking forward to working with Yohanna and views him as a player who can influence the final third. He noted the winger is still young and will need time to adapt to the club and the Premier League, but highlighted his creativity, dynamism and willingness to take on defenders as qualities that will add to Brighton’s attack.

In May, the report said Brighton were in talks to sign Portuguese right-back Costinha from Olympiacos, with discussions around an £11 million fee after monitoring him throughout the season. Since then, former sporting director Jason Ayto has left after nine months, with Mike Cave replacing him.
