Brighton have rejected Liverpool’s second bid, worth £60m, for winger Yankuba Minteh.

According to The Athletic, Brighton had already turned down a £50m offer from the Merseyside club on Thursday.

It is unclear if Andoni Iraola’s side will come back again. Minteh is recovering from surgery on a right leg injury suffered in a 3-0 friendly win against Roma this month, and is expected to miss two to three months.

The Gambia international joined Brighton from Newcastle United in summer 2024. He made 36 appearances last season, scoring three goals and supplying four assists.

Liverpool are seeking to reinforce their attack after Mohamed Salah’s departure. They have signed 23-year-old forward Victor Munoz from Osasuna and hold interest in Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola, though valuations remain far apart.

Liverpool finished fifth in the Premier League last season. They start the 2026-27 campaign away to Newcastle United on Sunday.
