Brighton are expected to return with a fresh bid for former Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell this summer, after a €23m offer was rejected in January, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Toulouse now value him at more than €23m and their price is said to have risen since the winter window.

Cresswell progressed through Leeds’ academy and broke into the first team, but minutes were limited amid competition at centre-back.

He ended over a decade at Elland Road by joining Toulouse in July 2024 for a fee believed to be about £3.8m. He is now 23.

A sell-on clause is understood to give Leeds 15 per cent of any profit Toulouse make on a future sale.
