Brighton are considering a fresh move for former Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell, with Toulouse now valuing him at more than €23m. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Premier League side are expected to return with a new bid this summer.

Toulouse rejected a €23m offer from Brighton in January, and their asking price has increased since the winter window.

Cresswell came through Leeds’ academy and broke into the first team, but opportunities were limited amid competition at centre-back. He ended more than a decade at Elland Road by joining Toulouse in July 2024 for a fee understood to be about £3.8m.

Now 23, the England under-21s defender has enhanced his reputation in Ligue 1.

It is understood Leeds inserted a sell-on clause in last summer’s agreement, entitling them to 15 per cent of any profit Toulouse make.
