Premier League high-flyers Brighton are weighing up a renewed move for former Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell, with Toulouse valuing him at more than €23m.

According to Fabrizio Romano, a €23m offer from Brighton was rejected in January, and the Seagulls are expected to return with a fresh bid this summer as the French club’s price has risen since the winter window.

Cresswell, an England youth international, progressed through Leeds’ academy and reached the first team but found opportunities limited amid competition at centre-back.

He ended more than a decade at Leeds by joining Toulouse in July 2024 for a fee thought to be about £3.8m.

Now 23, his stock has climbed, and a sell-on clause means Leeds are due 15 per cent of any profit Toulouse make on a future sale.
