Bruma, a six and a half million signing, omitted from Benfica’s Europa League list | OneFootball

UEFA confirmed that Benfica have submitted their Europa League squad for the league phase, with Bruma the standout omission.

The Portugal winger remains under contract, but Marco Silva removed him at the start of pre-season and he is seeking a move late in the window. As a result, he was not named in the European list.

Souffian El Karouani, João Palhinha and Claudio Echeverri are the notable additions. The trio joined after Benfica beat Aarhus in the play-off and are now eligible for European action.

In the other direction, Richard Ríos was not registered after the Colombian midfielder joined Al-Ittihad of Saudi Arabia on loan.

João Rego is also absent, having been loaned to Casa Pia after previously being on List B for club-trained players.

Jaden Umeh misses out as well. The Irish international winger was injured in pre-season against Flamengo and faces months out, which rules him out of the league phase.
