Bruno Bertinato signs for Palmeiras on free, registered to play | OneFootball

Palmeiras have signed goalkeeper Bruno Bertinato from Portuguesa on a free, the 28-year-old agreeing a deal to December 2026. The club announced the move on Tuesday.

He has been registered on the CBF’s BID system and is eligible to play, although he has not yet trained under Abel Ferreira.

Bertinato could be named in the squad on Wednesday 26 against Santos at Nubank Parque, but it is not yet clear whether he will be selected.

In his first words as a Palmeiras player, he said the facilities and staff had made a strong impression and that he felt happy and honoured to join what he called Brazil’s biggest club. He described the move as the opportunity of his life and said he is eager to meet team-mates and get on the pitch.

Born in Curitiba, he came through Coritiba’s academy, represented Brazil at youth level, then moved to Venezia at 20, spending six seasons in Italy. During that spell he also played on loan for Lecco and Vis Pesaro.

He returned to Brazil at the end of 2024 to sign for Portuguesa, had a short stint at Mirassol late in 2025, then rejoined the Canindé club before this move.
